...........................................................................................................................................................

Taken a turn for the worst with the past two games. Definitely a bit on the rusty side against Frome. Although a good side I am sure we were, good enough for a result, but not to be. The playing of only two games since 18 November proved a bit too much to cope with in the conditions.

Not a bad first half hour, pretty even, but in the quarter before half time they definitely had the best and scored the goal. We probably had our best spell after the break and deserved to equalise but for that excellent save. Then the game turned on a penalty and with the weekend shown to be a tale of two penalties One scored against us which killed off that game and one missed which would have brought us back level at Chard. Pretty good save by all accounts!

Certain sides no doubt wanted to play us in the conditions prevailing and gather the Chard sloping surface was not the best and an horrendous hail and rain spell in the second half did us no favours at all. Could have resulted in a break in the game or even an abandonment? but not so.

So today becomes even more important to get back on track and lets hope we have the surface in shape to make the ball move and our usual passing game can be revived. Will not be for want of trying. Still you have to say that both sides have to play on whatever is put in front of them and declared playable and make the most of it. You have to be adaptable to all sorts in an English season and this one is no exception in those stakes - probably exceptional in fact

With the games coming up we need to recover and maintain our excellent crowd average, the envy of many, get the cash flow back on track and work damn hard on and off the pitch. With your continuing support we can do it. So again let us hear the terraces in action and help the team in the best way possible

Welcome to Odd Down, away to them in the first match of the season so that is how far the months have rolled by. Enjoy your visit - but not as much as the home game !!
